New tools are now putting this technology in the hands of non-profits. We'll talk conceptually about what companies such as Google and Amazon are doing, and you'll hear how one organization, the Greenwich Choral Society, is taking advantage of this.

Google search marketing expert Tyrona Heath will offer the basics on Google AdWords and Google Grants, and she’ll show you how to use Google Analytics to measure the effectiveness of your marketing campaigns and your Web site.

Reaching a Younger Audience through Social Networks: Marketing on Facebook

Social networks are a fantastic new way to connect with your patrons, particularly a younger audience. There are many free tools that enable you to create a social network on your site within minutes. You’ll learn how this works and see some insipiring examples of what's being done.

We'll then focus on Facebook, a fantastic place to find younger audiences. It skews urban, educated, and it is the ultimate viral marketing Web site. Although simply creating a Facebook page for your organization doesn't do much as a marketing tool, there's a new service (designed by team of actual Facebook users) that is available for free to all NY arts organizations. It will enable you to market your events on Facebook, utilizing all of its social networking capability. We'll introduce that service and explain how you can participate.

If you're doing any kind of e-mail marketing, building your e-mail list is probably your biggest challenge. Since you can't buy an opt-in list, you have to grow it yourself. Most organizations are growing their lists at about 25 percent per year - but some have quadrupled their lists in a few months. How did they do it? This session offers proven techniques that will help you super-charge your e-mail list growth.
